After finishing the 2009 regular season 6-2 and a trip to the playoffs, the Knights look to keep their winning ways going in 2010. The Knights have already seen a large amount of returning players reporting to camp. Mix that with a very strong recruiting class and success is going to follow.
The Knights will continue to recruit for the 2010 season throughout the spring. We will continue to look for the big guys that play in the trenches. In this league you never have too many offensive linemen or defensive linemen. With the talent the Knights have this year the AA Championship is there for the taking.
2009 was a very successful year for the Knights. Offensively they had the league’s leading rusher with 668 yard and an average 5.1 yards per carry. The Knights finished the season with a team total 1,401 and were 3rd in the league in team rushing. The Knights didn’t just get it done on the ground but had an aerial assault that finished with the league’s 3rd ranked QB. We had a record breaking year with 723 yards passing. Defensively the Knights broke yet another record recording 3 shutouts in a single season. The defense finished the year with a total 17 sacks and 8 forced fumbles. The Knights finished the 2009 season 4-0 against teams outside their division and are 6-2 vs. teams outside of Montana in the last two seasons. 2008 and 2009 found the Knights finishing 3-1 at home. In 2009 the Knights won on the road for the first time, finishing 3-1 for the first time in history. With all the chemistry coming together, 2010 will be the year of the Knights. Bigger, Better, Faster!
First year Head Coach Keith Wheat will take over coaching duties for the Knights. With a professional coaching staff in 2010 the foundation of the Knights has been put in place. Hay Shed Arena is the Knights practice facility for 2010. It’s nice to be able to strap the cleats on this early in the season. We have had a lot of support from our local businesses. With a large networking group it’s a winning situation for the Knights and for many local companies. A lot of sponsors are seeing the benefits of supporting the Knights. With over fifty guys on the team, over 300 fans at each game, and over 200 hits a day on the website, the sponsors are getting a large amount of exposure in the valley. The Glacier Knights would like to thank all who support the Knights.  2010 will be the year of the Knight!
